Yamaha keyboards

This PSR 9000 is a brilliant keyboard with sequencing
facilities and a floppy disk drive which creates MIDI files
you can edit in PC software or play back using PC software.
It has sampling and vocal harmony facilities which can be
controlled by MIDI files from an inserted microphone to
which various echoes/reverbs can also be added.

I have used mine in many countries - see Italy.

There is also provision for an internal hard drive and
external ZIP drive. The Yamaha hard drive is expensive
but second hand 2½" drives for around £35 (e.g. 540Mb ex laptop)
can be found at a computer fair.

Fit a 2½" to 3½" adaptor in a removable drive to your PC,
format it and check for bad sectors. You can buy an IBM
drive and using their web site for reference reconfigure the
links so the drive acts as master.

The internal formatting system of the PSR9000 can then
be used as it will recognise it. The drive will save many thousands
of MIDI files and performance memories to suit. You can
also store sounds you have sampled to hard disk.

The SCSI interface will also recognise CD readers but not
writers. You can write to SCSI Jazz drives & Zips.

A professional version is available without amplification.

Using XGworks on the PC it is possible (but very awkward!)
to attach lyrics to MIDI files which can be displayed on the
PSR9000 LCD display like a karaoke.

I run courses for teachers and others using modern technology.

I don't sell - except my services (composing/arranging/lecturing/performing).
